Stories STORIES

Charles' Story:

Charles' Story

“My name is Charles and I am a 52-year-old resident of Layik. I am married to Magret, God has blessed me with ten children. My family was internally displaced in 2000 by Kony. However, in 2007 I returned to settle here. We drink water from a spring about half a kilometer away. Beside diarrhea and infections, access to clean drinking water is our biggest problem. I'm so delighted about the drilling of this borehole, May God bless you.”

Harriet's Story:

Harriet's Story

“My name is Harriet and I am a 25 year old resident of Layik Village. I'm married to Santo and God has blessed our marriage with one baby boy. I was born here, I fled the area due insecurity caused by Joseph Kony’s rebels from 1999 and 2003. Since I’ve been here we have had to drink water from a spring and stream. I often suffer from typhoid which is a waterborne disease. Access to a clean drinking water source has been the biggest challenge we’ve faced beside the lack health and educational facilities. On behalf of the community, I would like to congratulate you on the well job done and for your continuous effort in helping people in need. God bless you abundantly.”
