Stories STORIES

Alonzo's Story:

Alonzo's Story

“My name is Alonzo and I am 29 years old. I am a resident of Kidere Village Patiko Sub-County. I am married to Ashan Jenifer. God has blessed my marriage with five children. Though I was born here and grew up here, I was captured three times by Kony rebels, first for nine months, then for one year, and lastly for three years. I finally escaped in 2003 and settled here. We drink water from a hand dug well. The biggest challenge here is no access to education and health services, as well as, no access to a clean water source. We no longer have a water problem thanks to this new well. May you continue to help people in need. God bless the work of your hands”

Irene's Story:

Irene's Story

“My name is Irene and I am 40 years old. I am a mother of seven children and I am married to Odege. I have been in the area for 28 years. Before here, I live in Pajaa.  We drink water from a hand dug well and a nearby stream. Our biggest problem is the lack of health, educational services, and access to clean drinking water. Because of the dirty water, my daughter died of diarrhea. I'm so happy for the drilling of this well. We shall never again suffer from waterborne diseases. God blessed you abundantly”
