Stories STORIES

Francis's Story:

Gordon's Story

"My name is Abola Francis. I am 46 years old and married to Lawino Christine. God has blessed us with four children, three boys and one girl. I was born in Tuku village and am a born-again Christian.

Access to clean water has been a major problem in Tuku village for as long as I know of. We fetch water from a hand dug well that our ancestors named long ago. The water in this well is shared by humans and animals because it is open. When people are not there, animals drink. Because of this contamination the community suffers from many diseases. Today I am happy for the new borehole in our village. It is the first of its kind to be in the community of Tuku and it will help reduce diseases. I thank the donor for his humility. I pray that God will open the way for Water Harvest International to go to many other villages that do not have access to clean water."

Lily's Story:

Betty's Story

"My name is Auma Lily. I am 45 years old and married to Kiza Francis. God has blessed us with six children. I was born in this village and got married in this village. I gave my life to Christ during the preaching that was conducted by Water Harvest International.

I fetch water from an open, hand dug well. This is the only source of water in the entire community of Tuku. I have to wake up early to get water for my family because many people gather at the well. And when people fetch water, the level reduces. Today I am happy and I thank the donor for giving us clean, abundant water. May the Almighty God reward the donor and not forget Water Harvest International."
