Stories STORIES

Sunday's Story:

Gordon's Story

"My name is Akwo Pikico Sunday and I am 24 years old. I am not yet married. I ran to Gulu during the Lords Resistance Movement and resettled in Lakuny village in 2007. When I returned, it was not easy to get clean drinking water. The entire community was fetching water from a stream. When it rains this water is not clean, and during the dry season the water dries up, leaving many people desperate and looking in far places for water. Water is a sustainer of life, but it can become an agent of death.

I thank God for answering our community’s prayers for a borehole. May the Lord bless the donor abundantly for what he has done for the community of Lakuny. We will not forget the donor or Water Harvest International for successfully drilling a brand new borehole with clean, abundant water."

Achiro's Story:

Betty's Story

"My name is Yunis Achiro and I am 25 years old. I was born in Lakuny village and grew up here. But when the Lords Resistance Movement broke out, I ran to an IDP camp. I came back to resettle in Lakuny village in 2008.

There was never a borehole in this village until Water Harvest International drilled one for us. Before now, I was fetching water from a hand dug well, which did not grantee clean water. I am very happy for the donor for giving us clean water. The entire community of Lakuny is grateful. We pray that God will bless the donor and Water Harvest International for the great work they have done and for demonstrating the love of God to the community of Lakuny village."
